What is a Crunchy Mom?
When you think “crunchy mom” what are the buzz words that come to mind? Raw milk, not into vaxing, unmedicated labors, barefoot shoes, beef tallow, cotton clothing, cotton sheets, spring water, no plastic, homeschool, from scratch cooking, holistic and alternative medicines, etc. To define it, a crunchy mom someone who prioritizes natural and holistic choices in foods and lifestyle, including parenting practices.
Of course, there is “crunchy mom controversy,” because it is seen as an extreme way to live. Crunchy moms often find themselves outside the mainstream health and wellness practices. This, in my opinion, makes being a crunchy mom even more fun! Who doesn’t love a little bit of controversy and backlash, am I right? If you are also a mom who likes to live a little on the fringe, then these are the crunchy mom resources you need!

Top 3 Crunchy Mom Resources
1. Just the Inserts
Just the Inserts is one of the best crunchy mom resources out there. It’s a free resource website run by a mom who wants you to be able to make informed medical decisions for you and your children.
Just the Inserts has a large catalog of everyday medications and all the vaccines on the schedule. They provide a summary of the most important information including ingredients and side effects of each medication and vaccine on their website. The great part is, though, that each summary is taken directly from the government approved insert. Hence, the name Just the Inserts. All of the information on this website is literally just from the inserts of the medications and vaccines. Consequently, this is an incredibly powerful crunchy mom resource.

2. Be Your Child’s Pediatrician
Be Your Child’s Pediatrician is an amazing book to have on hand in your kitchen. Unlike many other holistic health books, this book has a plethora of home remedies that are simple and accessible. While it does have some specialty ingredients, the author makes sure to provide resources on where to acquire them.
Be Your Child’s Pediatrician also uses a lot of anecdotal evidence, so you as the mom can make up your own mind on how to treat your child and what you think could work for them.
Overall this book is one of my got to crunchy mom resources whenever my kids are coming down with something.

3. Sue Becker
Sue Becker is the leading expert and speaker promoting fresh milled flour. She and her husbnad started Bread Beckers, a milling supply company, in the 90s and have been teaching about the benefits of fresh milled flour since. Fresh milled flour is not only the healthiest way to consume wheat, it is actually one of the healthiest foods you can eat!

There is a reason kids crave carbs and there is a reason Jesus compared Himself to bread! Bread is an amazing resource, but we have been consuming it all wrong. Because we strip away the bran and the germ, modern, conventional bread is making us sick when it should be providing us with life. By leaving the bran and germ intact and fresh milling the flour just before it’s baked, all of the 45+ essential vitamins and nutrients found in wheat are preserved and bioavailable to us humans. Sue Becker is the best crunchy mom resource for transforming the diet of your family.
